And indeed, he is in extreme love with wealth.
This verse says that the human beings who lost the aim of life by not utilizing Adhikr have utmost thirst for wealth. Today, this character is more seen among the Arabic Qur’an Reading Fujjar, especially among the hypocrites among them, than in any other people belonging to the Messenger’s community, such as Jains, Buddhists, Jews, Christians, etc. But one in a thousand believers, who utilize Adhikr as the Ticket to Paradise, have the consciousness that on the Day of Judgment, about every favor will be questioned, as told in verse 102:8. So they are earning in this world only under the light of Adhikr, and are utilizing all favors only under the light of Adhikr. Since there is no group of believers anywhere in the world, the odd believer is commanded to follow the mode of prayer and lifestyle as explained in verses 7:205-206. See explanation 9:55, 85; 63:9-11 and 89:19-20.
