(Al-Fathiha) 1 : 1
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

This verse is repeated in verse 37: 182, and also as part of the verse in four places.

(1) 6: 45: - In verses 6: 42-44 it is told that “We have sent Messengers to many nations before you and We have afflicted them with suffering and adversity in order that they might become humble. When the calamity reached them from Us, instead of becoming humble they became more arrogant. Satan made their evil deeds seem alluring to them. But when they forgot the warning they received, We opened to them the doors of all Blessings. In the midst of their enjoyment, We seized them suddenly, then they became despairing like the Iblis. We cut off the taproot of those wrongdoers, and Praise is to Allah, the Lord of all worlds”. Here the believers are praising the Lord who destroyed the wrongdoers and maintained the Earth in its equilibrium so that His creatures can live in peace and tranquility glorifying and praising their Lord as told in verses 17: 44 and 24: 41.

(2) 10: 10: - In verses 10: 7-10 the Lord says: “Indeed, those who do not keep hope on their meeting with Us are pleased and satisfied with the life of this world, and those who are heedless with Our verses, their final abode is the Hell which they were earning in the 4th phase in this world. Indeed, those who believed and do righteous deeds, their Lord will guide them to the Straightpath because of their faith, beneath them will flow rivers in Gardens of Bliss. There in the Paradise, their calling will be: Glory be to You, oh Lord Allah! And their greeting will be: Peace, peace; the ending of their all talk will be: All praises be to Lord Allah, the Lord of all worlds”. Read together 2: 152; 3: 191; 4: 103 and 62: 10.

(3) 37: 182: - Mushriks in Mecca during the period of Messenger Muhammad used to consider Angels as the daughters of Lord Allah and Jinns as His sons as explained in verse 6: 100. They attributed a blood-relationship between the Lord and the Jinns. But the Jinns knew quite well that they should indeed, be gathered for the judgment in front of the Lord. The Lord is free from all the things they ascribe upon Him is told in verses 37: 158-160. About Angels in verses 37: 164-166 it is told: “Indeed, there is none of us without having an acknowledged position; we are lined-up for obeying Commands. Indeed, we are those who glorify the Lord”. After explaining through verses 171-173 what actions the Lord took in the previous Messengers, and in verses 178-179 what policy Messenger Muhammad has to take, the Surath ends as: Your Lord is the Glorious and free from whatever they are ascribing to Him; peace be upon the Messengers! Praise is to Lord Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

(4) 39: 75: - The trumpet will be sounded, whoever is in the Heaven and whoever is on the Earth except those whom Lord Allah intends will swoon and fall down. And when it will be blown for the second time, they all will stand up and look around. The Earth will shine by the Light of the Lord; the Record of deeds mentioned in verses 17: 13-14; 18: 49; 23: 62-64; 36: 12; 45: 28-29; 58: 6 and 78: 28-29 will be placed open, the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought in, and the Judgment will be pronounced with the Truth—Adhikr and every soul will be repaid in full whatever it has earned, He is quite aware of what they are doing. The disbelievers will be driven into the Hell in groups and when they reach the Hell, the doors of It will be automatically opened and Its keepers will ask: Hadn’t the Messengers come to you from among yourselves reciting your Lord’s verses to you, and warning you about the meeting of this Day of yours? They will say: Of course, but the sentence about the punishment is afflicted for the disbelievers. Then it will be told: Enter the gates of the Hell to remain therein; then what an evil abode is for the arrogant! Note that these verses make clear that Kafirs (disbelievers) are only those who hide or reject the Book after receiving It.

Those who have heeded their Lord will be driven along to the Paradise in crowds, when they reached it, its doors will be opened by Messenger Muhammad. The keepers of it will tell them: Peace is upon you! You have done well, so you enter in it to remain there. And they will say: Praise be to the Lord Who fulfilled His Promise for us, and He provided the Earth to inherit for us, now we can dwell in the Paradise as we wish; then what an excellent reward for those who do righteous deeds! You will see the Angels encircling the Lord’s Throne, Glorifying and Praising Him, Judgment will be done among the creatures with the Truth—Adhikr and will be declared: Praise is to Lord Allah, the Lord of all worlds! Read together 39: 73-75.

(5) 40: 65: - The Lord is the One Who has granted you the Earth for settling and the sky built as a canopy, and has shaped you; He has made your shapes handsome and provided you with wholesome things; such is Allah, your Lord, then blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds. He is the living, there is no deity except Him, so you appeal to Him sincerely, live exclusively for Him; Praises is to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. The believers always praise the Lord by his soul as: "Praise be to the Lord always except in the condition of the inmates of Fire". Read together 40: 64-65. 

The 6th, 18th, 34th, and 35th Sura begin by praising Lord Allah.

Verse 45: 36 says: "Then all the Praises be to Allah, the Lord of the Heavens and the Lord of the Earth, the Lord of all worlds". Verse 30: 18 says by indicating the time of prayer: "To him is all praises in Heavens and on Earth; in the late afternoon or after the supper and when you are at the noon hour". As told in verse 14: 39 Prophet Ibrahim says: "Praise be to Allah Who has granted me in old age Ismael and Ishaaq". In verse 7: 43 the believers who entered the Paradise will say: "Praise be to Allah Who has guided us to this bliss. Never could we have found Guidance, if It not had been there the Guidance of the Lord".

Through verse 23: 28 Lord Allah commands the Prophet Nooh: When you have embarked on the ark you and those with you say: Praise be to Lord Allah Who has saved us from the people of wrongdoing. As told in verse 27: 15 both Prophets Dawood and Suleiman declared: Praise be to Lord Allah who has favored us above many of the believing servants. Through verse 27: 59 Messenger is ordered to say: Praise be to Lord Allah and peace be upon His servants whom He has chosen. As told in verse 27: 93 ‘Praise be to Lord Allah who will soon show you His Signs so that you shall know them; your Lord is not heedless about all that you are doing. As told in verse 35: 34 the believers entered in the Paradise will say: Praise be to Lord Allah Who has removed grievances from us; our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative. Verse 29: 63 says: If you ask them Who sent down the rain from the sky and thereby gives life to the Earth after Its death, they will certainly reply: Allah! You say: Praise be to Lord Allah! But most of them are not utilizing their intelligence. Read together 16: 75 and 39: 29. Verse 28: 70 says: He is Allah; there is no Deity except Him! Praise belongs to Him here as well as in the Hereafter; Judgment is His and to Him all of you will be returning. 

Verse 15: 98 says: Glorify your Lord’s praise and be one among who prostrates. Verse 110: 3 says: Then Glorify your Lord’s praise and seek to Him for forgiveness, since He is so relenting. In verse 17: 44 the Lord says: The seven Heavens and the Earth as well as whatever in them are Glorifying and Praising Him, nothing is there unless it Glorifies His praise; yet you don’t understand their Glorification, indeed, He is the Forbearing, Forgiving; and verse 24: 41 says: Have you not seen how everyone in the Heaven and the Earth Glorifies the Lord, even to the birds lined in flight, each knows its mode of prayer and Glorification of Him; the Lord knows whatever they are doing.

Rabb (The Lord): - The word ‘Rabb’ means the Creator, the Guardian, the Owner Who has the authority to preserve and destroy. If the beginning of Surath Fathiha is with a declaration of praise to ‘Rabb’, the last Surath Annas begins by commanding to say: I seek refuge with the Lord, the King and the Deity of mankind. Verses 7: 172-173 say: "When Adam was created in the Paradise, all human beings till the Last Day also were created, and took a covenant from all by asking individually: Am ‘I’ not your Lord? Then everyone said: Of course, we do testify. This covenant is taken from everybody for not to say on the Day of Judgment as: We were heedless about it, or not to say as “Our forefathers have associated others in the dominion of Lord Allah and were not we the descendants after them? Then are You destroying us for the deeds of those who were following the falsehood?”

Wa’ad (the Promise): - On the Day of Judgment everyone will be questioned about the covenant, and it is the Promise. See explanation 2: 27.

Al-Alameena (All worlds): Without saying ‘Alam’ (the world), it is told ‘Alameena’ (all worlds) which means the Creator of Angels, Jinns, mankind, this world, and all other worlds. The phrase; ‘the Lord of all worlds’ is mentioned 42 times in the Book. As per verses 20: 49-52 Pharaoh asked: Oh Moosa! Who is the Lord of both of you? Moosa replied: Our Lord is the One Who has given everything its own constitution, then guided it. Pharaoh asked: What is your attitude about the ancestors? Moosa told: Knowledge concerning them rests in a Book with my Lord, My Lord neither misses anything nor forgets. The Book mentioned here is Adhikr which explains everything as told in verses 5: 48; 16: 89 and 41: 41. Verses 85: 21-22 say: Nay, This is a Glorious Reading inscribed in a preserved disk.
